    337 1940 s/n #1??

The barrel looks more like a "1" than the receiver. Who says the Russians were right when they EP'd the other parts? :)

    k98 reproduction stocks???

I don't think they sell them anymore, but you could probably find one second-hand. I don't know of any other modern K98 stock makers. How much are you looking to spend?

    k98 reproduction stocks???

I'd bet an original would be nearly comparable in cost to one of the reproduction stocks. As I recall, the modern maker was Boyds?

    8mm R Identification-What Round Is This For?

You are welcome. I've got about 25+ boxes of these, packed on stripper clips. Never can find it within me to shoot them though.

    Found a swp 45 Kriegsmodell

Sounds like a post-war made rifle, that used an un-finished German receiver and parts (hence, both German and post-war markings).

8x56R for the Steyr M95 rifles and carbines.

:faint: :censored: No photos provided of the bands at all... That rear one definitely looks off.

    "All matching" Luftwaffe 243.....

Not only that, but he clearly said in his listing that it is ALL matching. He did take a picture of the mis-matched part, but unless someone was paying really close attention it would have been easy to miss due to his misleading advertisement.

    "All matching" Luftwaffe 243.....

Am I the only one that noticed the mis-matched hand-guard on this beauty: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=218578557 ? Even if it were all matching, any one of us probably would not have gotten more than 1K for it in this crappy condition.

I'm not a big JP Sauer fan, but I really like this one! Nice score.

dot 1944 sells on GB for more than $1200... why?

It is not all matching, that stock is from a Russian Capture and I "think" that rear band is incorrect (should be stamped I think). I'm thinking it was a restored sporter. This seller seems to get very good prices on his K98s even when they have issues. Maybe he is related to sreisel? :barf:

Need some expertise on a 98k I just got please

Post some pictures, that will make it easier to determine value. From what I have seen though, average Israeli K98s tend to go for a little less than standard RCs, so somewhere around $250-$300 most likely.

As far as I know it is the same ammunition. I've never had any problems running .308 in 7.62Nato rifles.
