    Capture Piles

Does post-WW2 count? I ran across this picture of WW2 weapons captured from the VC.

The serial is 339 with no suffix.

    CE43 finished by Mauser-Oberndorf?

Ah, ok! I didn't even think to check the Kriegsmodell book, anything in there about it?

    CE43 finished by Mauser-Oberndorf?

I got an Iraqi used CE43 in the other day, and right off I noted that the firing proofs on the left side of the receiver were the big version, not the small ones used by JP Sauer. Upon closer inspection, the final acceptance proof is E/135 and the barrel is an unnumbered byf barrel. The WaA on...

Help with a German Marked Vz.24

That stock could be worth the asking price by itself, so if I were you I'd buy the rifle (or give me their number so that I can!).

    Syracuse show?

You're right about the shows here, Ham.... It seems there is now a gunshow every month in Jackson, and it is ALWAYS "The Big One!" . Same dealers, same guns...... Almost never anything good, and if there is it will walk through the door and not come from a dealer. Almost a quarter of the Jackson...

Baltic Front 98K for My Father

Well, I'm not sure how much luck you will have finding a non-Soviet handled K98 that did not get used on the Western Front. If not captured there and brought back, most other K98s came out of Russia or the Soviet satellite states.

A new record selling price for a K98 Sling?

    Expensive mistake for someone....

    Panzer Crews issued K98,s..?

I don't think that K98s would be practical at all in a tank. Plus, I have read the personal accounts of many German Panzer crews, and when they mention any weapons it is always a side-arm or an MP40. Always buy the items and not the story.

BNZ 45 at gun show today

How much was he asking? Also, was that milled floor-plate numbered to the gun or un-numbered? It would seem odd that a milled floor-plate would show up on a 1945 rifle, but even if it were not correct that is an easy part to swap out for what would be a correct un-numbered stamped floor-plate.

    Bolt Mismatch, Best Solution?

Personally, I'd just leave it alone (unless you stumbled across the original matching bolt, the chances of which are VERY slim).
