Belongs in a museum, lol. Great rifle!
Thank you!

That’s actually the plan… or at least I hope so!
Gorgeous example! I just got a H block Heer for my collection. I wish mine was only $250-$300. Looks like your rifle may have made a visit to the Königsburg depot due to the "69" stamped into the stock but the Eagle and KG portion of that stamp is missing which is abit weird. The "69" looks like a perfect match for known Königsburg marked rifles.
Thank you so much!

Congratulations on your new purchase. I hope to see it on the forum swiftly.
I must admit I am even happier with the price after the overwhelmingly positive response to this rifle. Although price is not the factor in the love I have for this beauty of a rifle, it is always nice to know one has made a good deal on something unknowingly. Btw, thank you for pointing out the Königsburg depot stamp. I did not know that!
Picture #58 is what I'm talking about incase anyone was confused.
Quick edit, very interesting that it has what looks like a "droop wing eagle" KG then a 69
Edit two,

Never mind, my Königsburg example is marked the same way. Although less space between the E/kg and 69 stamps.
Thank you for the additional explanation and information!

By the way, that’s a beautiful rifle as well — it’s gorgeous!
very nice find !! made my night looking at it..
Thank you, I’m very happy to hear that! It really made my day to know that this rifle made your day!
Another Top Shelf beauty for sure. Looks super mint! Certainly am glad I invited you over and am sure many others are too. Looks brand spanking new!! And that price!! Thanks for sharing here on the best forum.
Thank you so much! I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed this rifle!
I’m really glad you invited me, and I’m very grateful you guided me to this wonderful forum of such knowledgeable and friendly people!
Thank you for all the photos. I had to print those out. Just one word:
"Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious"
Thank you so much, I really appreciate that!
Did you really print out those photos? If so, that is awesome! I’m glad you liked the photos and the rifle so much!
That is a fantastic rifle, I'm certainly jealous at the price you paid for such a beauty! Congrats on a top notch rifle, I'm thinking this one is worthy of making it in the picture reference thread!
Thank you so much for the kind words, and I’m so happy that you found this rifle so wonderful that you would recommend it for the picture reference thread.
Absolutely gorgeous. Interesting that they marked the follower 05 instead of just 5 like all of the other parts.
Thank you!
Yes, that is an interesting detail! Thanks for pointing that out, I sort of missed that one for some reason!
Thanks a lot for sharing this. Rifle is insanely beautiful.
Thank you so much, I'm happy to hear that you think so!
Very nice rifle! Super cool with this single digit serial. Loved and had a good laugh at the follower being 05 serialized.
The rear barrel band btw is upside down installed. You can simply take it off, turn it over, and reinstall it.
Thank you so much!
Thanks for making me aware of that detail. It's probably not a bad idea to turn it the correct way around.
Congratulations to this Mauser Berlin K98k, I like the single-digit serial number and the condition is excellent.
Now to your question. The Kriegsmarine got 2,000 K98ks per month from January 1940 to September 1940. In October and November 4,000 K98ks each and in December 1940 another 2,000 K98ks.
In total the Kriegsmarine got 28,000 K98ks in 1940, most served in the Nordsee Fleet and most came from the manufacturer Mauser Berlin. Here some Mauser Berlin Kriegsmarine examples, with your K98k at the third place:

Wow, thank you so much for this wonderful information!

This might be a stretch, but is there any way to pinpoint a particular military unit based on the N code?
And thank you so much for the kind words regarding my little Mauser Berlin, it truly warms a collector's heart!
Sehr schönes Gewehr.
Herzlichen Glückwunsch zu so einer Schönheit.
Vielen herzlichen Dank!
