Nabbed this last weekend at the gun show. Dimond in the rough.
Its all matching, 1917 dated barrel. Et. Continsouza was a Gramophone and Cinematography company who made recievers and barrels only, the rest being assembled I believe at Châtellerault. Only downsized is the cracked handguard ring. Its marked N for the cartridge update and has the handguard cutout from post WW1 refurbishments.
Noticed some odd markings on stock, like the C, as well as what appears to be a Waffenamnt mark at the underside stock heel.
Is this a common Buetewaffen marking ?
Regardless its my first French gun and I fell in love with the stock repairs, some real TLC from the armory guys.
