Recoil bolt removal tool

Yep... by the time it gets to me we're looking at $100.. the individual bit is about $3, but they won't post it to the UK...

Pay for it and send it to me and I’ll ship it to you for under $10 USD. You may be called upon to reciprocate as I collect Commonwealth and there are dealers and such there on epay who won’t ship to the US.

See, also,……

Yes, as a last resort i'll have to.. just not so keen and would rather use the correct toll if I can get hold of one...
When you custom make it to fit and it works, it is the correct tool. It all depends on your skill. It doesn't have to be pretty (we had to polish everything and make it pretty for an "A" grade), but it must work.

Out of stock at the moment, but they say a restock is expected soon. I have this one, it's great:

Unfortunately the Brownell’s tool has been out of stock for some time. (years) I also guessed that the OP may not have machine tools at his disposal, or he’d already have made a tool, & so posted about the Brass Stacker tool, AFTER I’d seen it come back into inventory. I suspect from reading Brass Stacker’s specs that their Mosin tool is the same size, but have not confirmed this.

My Brass Stacker spanner arrived today and it worked perfectly on my K98k. It fits snugly inside a 1/2" socket and it was a piece of cake to tighten up the bolt. It also fits my Mosin-Nagant as well. The end of the tool (between the tabs) is concave so it fits on the rounded head of the M-N bolt head.

Those are some solid spanner choices you guys brought up. I needed one a couple years ago and the Brownell's was sold out as mentioned.

I just got one also. Haven't tried it out yet, but I'm sure it will work.

So not to be a plumber and bring up old $hit. But I was searching this topic today as I was needing to remove my recoil lug as well.
So just in case anyone else sees this. Here's what I did. I fully suggest just buying one!
I took a 5/8 spade drill bit and worked it over with a 4" grinder and file. Could have made it look better but just wanted to show it doesn't have to be pretty or perfect. It was also a 1/4 hex shank.
I will say this was done on my shooter take that as you will.
