S/42 1936 Matching including the rod

I am still trying to make my photos better. I been trying to use a Sony RX100 II and also my iPhone. Sometimes I can’t get the Sony to do what I want, so I go back to the iPhone. Any additional advice from you guys on the photos is welcome along with anything on the rifle as well! So on to the rifle, it is already pic stickied on the forum: http://www.k98kforum.com/showthread.php?2240-Mauser-S-42-1936-5366-b
Back in December it popped up on GB, maybe some of you caught it. I was looking at it on GB and came to the index here to study the year and maker and boom it was the same rifle. Obviously I ended up with it. It’s a really nice rifle besides the bafoonery on the second band. I took better photos of that than on the original post to chronicle it.

I love how crisp the stamps are in the stock. Gotta love walnut. I would like to see a better pic of the bolt flat.

I threw in one of the extractor as well. Hopefully it’s a little better

S/42 1936 Posting

Alot of these rifles will have a red ink-stamp date in the barrel channel.
If you ever have it apart again, would appreciate a look.

Thanks,
B.

Sorry Bruce, it looks like mine is smudged out

Congratulations.
I didn’t see that one and don’t know what you paid for it ( and don’t want to know)but had I’d seen it on gunbroker I would have given you a run for your money!

I’m really looking for a nice S42 and S42G. And yes. I know they’re not cheap
