Well, I was very amused that since in broad terms, zollgrenze means the line or boundary where customs control and checks take place, typically for goods entering or leaving a country, you are the perfect guy to comment on this.
Look, I'm no economic genius, but to a simpleton like me, it seems when you are in a position where say, China, tariffs the shite out of goods manufactured here, and shipped there basically in order to stifle trade, but we are expected to let their goods flow into here freely, we got the shitty end of the stick.
It is having an effect on other countries though, Rollin Curtis who owns At The Front was just saying how more than a few textile companies overseas that were just getting by, are ending up folding because of the tariffs, they can't afford to ship thier wares here anymore. Which I guess is one way to hurt the countries, putting their businesses out of business. Of course that means At The Front can no longer get materials to make their stuff, so that sucks.
I don't know the answer but continued taking it up the kiester all the time also doesn't seem to be the best course of action.
But you are right, its a hugely complex problem, especially the whole defending the free world thing, yeah, the Socialist NATO countries are living it up because we funded their defense essentially from 1945 and are still funding it. And don't get me started in Ukraine. When someone else is paying all your bills its easy to live it and be a big spender.
In any case what you or I think doesn't really matter, we are ants in the afterbirth, we aren't going to change anything...might as well pull down your pants, and slide on the ice...
I just need to focus on my 3 foot world...
