I've found the S&B stuff to be very hot. I still have 5 or 6 boxes of it. I miss the days when the Yugo surplus was everywhere. Good thing I stocked up. At today's prices I'd just as soon throw rocks.

Personally I think the Yugo surplus is the one to look for, even the 50s stuff. I've had too many hang fires with the Turkish stuff and the Romanian steel cased stuff is crap. I've got one batch of Yugo made in 1950 that I save for special occasions, it's better than the M75 I have. Corrosive...

It's the B model that are mostly mismatched. The m/41 with the AGA42s were surpluses in the mid to late 50s. The Bs with the German Ajack scopes were rebuilt in 1955 and continued in service till the 90s. Yours looks slick to me. My buddy alund who posted has the nicest m/41 on the planet...

Is it wearing off or peeling off like that nice RC shellac? If it's peeling off you'd be surprised at how easy it is to get old brittle shellac off with just a plastic putty knife or even a credit card. If it's not shellac as far as using a thinner I would use the least caustic thinner that...

Nothing wrong with corrosive. Just pour hot water down the barrel after shooting and wipe the head of the bolt. Don't do anything other than clean it first after you get home. I use Hoppes, it seems to have some good effects on the salts used in the primers too. They used to say Hoppes would...
