    PPU Serb ammo

I've found the S&B stuff to be very hot. I still have 5 or 6 boxes of it. I miss the days when the Yugo surplus was everywhere. Good thing I stocked up. At today's prices I'd just as soon throw rocks.

    Ammunition

Personally I think the Yugo surplus is the one to look for, even the 50s stuff. I've had too many hang fires with the Turkish stuff and the Romanian steel cased stuff is crap. I've got one batch of Yugo made in 1950 that I save for special occasions, it's better than the M75 I have. Corrosive...

It's the B model that are mostly mismatched. The m/41 with the AGA42s were surpluses in the mid to late 50s. The Bs with the German Ajack scopes were rebuilt in 1955 and continued in service till the 90s. Yours looks slick to me. My buddy alund who posted has the nicest m/41 on the planet...

    Seeking Stock Restoration Advice

Is it wearing off or peeling off like that nice RC shellac? If it's peeling off you'd be surprised at how easy it is to get old brittle shellac off with just a plastic putty knife or even a credit card. If it's not shellac as far as using a thinner I would use the least caustic thinner that...

Its been a good run - Vol.1 sold out

Thanks for the effort, though my interests changed slightly they still are a welcome source for knowledge or if I want to drool over some exquisite photography of K98ks. I treasure my matched set.

Stock finish - how to treat scrapes, scratches and scuff marks

https://www.centerfiresystems.com/product/surplus-8mm-ammo-150rds#product_detail Yugo surplus is excellent though I'm stocked up on 198 gr. Not familar with 180 gr. but it has to be better than the commercial stuff. Learn how to clean corrosive which is no big deal.

    8mm Surplus Ammo

Nothing wrong with corrosive. Just pour hot water down the barrel after shooting and wipe the head of the bolt. Don't do anything other than clean it first after you get home. I use Hoppes, it seems to have some good effects on the salts used in the primers too. They used to say Hoppes would...

Is This Going To Be The Norm?

What's with the please do not bid thing at the end? They bid $1500 on one turd, who knows what you might get for a real turd.

Is This Going To Be The Norm?

It needs the grey blanket treatment to get top price. I love the line on the greased pig, all the collectors are hoarding them up.

Name what's wrong with this byf 41...(hint, I think Himmler owned it lol)

Heinrich carved SS in the stock. Maybe that was done to keep Goering's big fat hands off of it.
