    I think the stock looks good. The handguard would concern me a little being a lighter color, but the handguard does have a correct WaA63 on it, so it might be just a lighter piece of wood that was used?

    Yes, the walnut is unusual for a 42. The research I did from being a H block has this a early 42? If anyone has additional information on these you are welcome to comment. Thanks

    Stock serial number picture. I tried gently to remove the hand guard, the spring steel clip has a lot of tension and doesn't look like it has been messed with. At some point if I decide to part with the rifle I will make a better attempt to remove it.

    G.24(t) Removing Handguard

    I tried one more time to remove the handguard with no luck, I'm not going to push the issue. If it isn't broke don't break it, that is what I'm going with. I will hopefully post pictures soon.
