Need provenance on a double date Kar 98

I have an Erfurt 1918 1920 double date with a stock stamp that I believe indicates the military or non military unit that it belonged to. Can any of the experts on this era provide any help. Thanks in advance. Sam

    Need Sling ID

I vetted a sling similar to, but not the same as, this one about 7 months ago. The consensus was that it was for the Kar98a. This one is 128 centimeters long and has only one mark (last picture). Any opinions? Sam

    Need ID: 1932 Dated Sling

Can anyone tell me what this sling goes to. I thought it might be for a Kar 98az but it looks too long. Sam

How NOT to repair a G41w duffel bag cut…and WHY

When I first got this duffel cut G41w many years ago, I thought someday I’d take a crack at repairing it. Well, someday recently came. After carefully inspecting it, I got the following news: • The bad: There is no way to do a k98 type repair of the cut because the cleaning rod channel is...

German WW2 8mm Mauser Machine Gun Ammo

I have a few 15 round boxes of German WW2 8mm Mauser ammo. Two of the boxes are stamped fur MG. I recall from many years back that these were not to be used in the 98k because they were supposed to higher velocity/pressure. Can anyone verify this? Thanks. Sam

1944 Dated, RBN Marked German Frog: Made for Bayonet Other Than 98k? . . . Maybe VZ24

The frog shown below is marked 44 along with an RB number. It’s different than most 98k bayonet frogs I’ve seen and owned. My pictures, comparing this frog to a standard 98k bayonet frog (this frog is on the left), show a notable difference in the size and shape of its opening for the bayonet...

1944 Dated Bayonet Frog w/RBN #: Made for Bayonet Other Than 98k? (maybe VZ24?) The frog shown below is marked 44 along with an RBN number. It is definitely different than most 98k bayonet frogs I’ve seen and owned. My pictures comparing this frog to a standard 98k bayonet frog (this frog...

“Last Ditch” (?) 98k Bayonet, Phosphate Finish

I have this 1944 dated, fnj (Coppel, Solingen) coded 98k bayonet that, as far as I can tell, has not been tinkered with. It appears to have a gray phosphate finish, definitely on the scabbard and possibly on the blade and other bayonet parts. The blade looks like it has no finish, but I...

    Mauser .22 Trainer Muzzle Cover

I found this muzzle cover in a box of gun parts at a gun show a number of years ago. I believe it's for a KKW or a DSM34 (I actually don't own any of these .22 trainers). Can anyone enlighten me on what rifle it fits and give me an idea of its rarity. My pictures below show it on the left...

    bcd4 phosphate Y block

My “Benchmark” y series BCD 4 The serial # of my y series BCD 4, shown in the pictures below, is about 3,500 higher than the y series BCD 4 in this thread. To the best of my knowledge, my rifle is all original and, as such, it can be used as a benchmark to compare the correctness of the rifle...
