    Kar 88 value/approximation?

Thanks man. Would you agree that 600-700 is a fair market value for it? My friend says he wants it gone and I would like to get a good idea how much its worth.

    Kar 88 value/approximation?

Morning to you gents, A friend of mine is in possession of a Kar 88 rifle with what looks like matching numbers. Since I'm more of a 98 guy and have very little idea on the market value of these pre-WWI era guns I have no idea on the market value of these things and I'll need some of the more...

    mowzerluvr's absense.

Late post. I sincerely wish him good health! Was a pleasure to learn about BSWs from him.

Another overpriced jem by the "Plumber" - Not Turd but Opportunist Callout

I'm pretty sure Mauser Wz.29 is Mauser1937 with a renamed account. Known turd seller.

    ...why is this $5,500? 90% sure that's a mitchell's stock. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/905810327

    Was this our Caesar?

You just rescued some poor sod from a "beautiful matching attic find" which he wouldn't know is a blessing in disguise. Nice job Caesar.

If your idea of "unhealthy buying habits" means basic self-awareness, then sure. He asked what one could value a reblued K98 with mismatched parts could go for without providing any photos, so I gave him the current ballpark asking price for Russian captures. If you don't like how they're priced...

If the rifle is indeed untouched and authentic, then that's a nice acquisition indeed despite the few mismatched parts. However, the point remains that this opportunity only arose because you made an offer to someone who clearly didn't know what he had, did not know its market price, and hence...

Fake DOU 45 This is such a hilariously bad turd that I'll just let the photos speak for themselves. Compared to many other collectors on here, I'm very new to this hobby, and yet even I could spot this from tens of miles away. No, I showed this to a friend of mine, who knows NOTHING about K98s...

Prices are what they are because availability of these guns today are not the same as they were 50-60 years ago, and because many buyers don't seem to care as much about originality as back then, hence the reason prices are inflating, and why say mitchell's mausers sell way above what most...

I think he's trolling. You can probably count the number of functional rifle caliber firearms you can buy for $150 on your hands, and that's if they don't explode in your face.

If its been refinished and the parts are totally mixed/altered, I wouldn't pay more than the price of an RC for it, and even then thats only if its a nice shooter. 600-800 tops. However, pictures might help.

    S/243 1937 Börsigwalde K98

I'm a collector on a budget, and therefore all original matching numbers pre-war rifles and even bolt mismatches are out of my price reach. For that reason, I've had my eyes on this rifle for auction, and I'm wanting to know for my price range if anything better is available. First, this is a...

Turd of Turds - AX/AR41 - "Crapastic rendering" and more dealer remarketing

In fact, come to think of it. The faked serial numbers look awfully similar to the ones humped on this bcd 41 rifle a while back. Same humper? http://www.k98kforum.com/showthread.php?43610-Turd-Alert-Gunbonker-bcd-41-9565

Turd of Turds - AX/AR41 - "Crapastic rendering" and more dealer remarketing

Not even worth it as a shooter. Thing is so fake, it might even explode in your face if you chambered a round and tried to fire it.

Nice progress Aaron. Cool project. Personally I think it's satisfying to do these rifles "justice" and get them back as they're supposed to be, or as closest possible. You also learn a lot about them on the way.

    Cool turd.... dot x Sauer

I'd buy that as a shooter if only because the bluing looks authentic german and the bore is nice, but wouldnt pay anything more than $900 tops. Shame that the humper scrubbed the original s/n from the dot receiver, because even an honest parts gun is worth more than a humped fake.

    barreled action

Restorations are expensive and are generally not to be attempted if you are exclusively looking for a cheap and economical shooter. With that said, restoring a rifle with all correct parts and aiming to make it as authentic as possible can be a very good learning opportunity and is a great way...
