Playing around with a digital borescope that I've had for a while. Edited to add that this rifle is very accurate.

    1936 S/147 ZF-41 Fact or Fantasy?

I work 3rd shift. Woke up to this picture from a shop I follow on Facebook. I doubted it's authenticity, so I messaged a fellow member here about it. I am posting about it now to let you guys know that this beautiful piece, (or PoS), might show up in Vegas according to what I was told by the...

    S/147 1937 @ lgs

Oh man..... Local shop has a S/147 1937, ALL MATCHING. Good shape with a sling. I did not eyeball the sling as close as I should have, but appears era correct. Flat buttplate walnut stock with what appears to be era time stock repair in the heel. No cleaning rod. Frosty bore. About 50%...

Just curious about the manufacturing process.

How big of a hammer and hard do you think they hit those punches when they proofed and serialized the parts?

    42 AR bolt m/m

AR 42 bolt m/m Could not pass this one up. 1942 AR bolt m/m. Band spring does not match and neither does the cleaning rod. Stock looks like it has had a coat of varnish put on it a long time ago. No import marks. Will get pics of the complete rifle later, but here are some close ups of various...

    Bolt mismatch values

With the prices of r/c's and all matching rifles rising, I'm going to assume that you'd expect the same for bolt mismatches? What would be a going rate for the following rifle? It's a later BYF 44, only the receiver is serialized. Everything else is not. Bolt matches itself less the firing...

Alright....who got that BYF 44 off Tucson backpage?

I'm just curious as to if my eyes were good enough to distinguish the markings. Is that an Iraqi marking on a Romanian capture?

Thought I shared this picture here. (nothing special)

The collection isn't as nice or as extensive as some of you fellas here, but I do appreciate them very much. Front to back: BYF 44 k block, all matching, (less the correct period unmarked hand guard sent to me from Touhy). Bought this from a vet's son. BYF 44 l block, bolt mismatch, (matches...

To buy or not to buy.....

I'm a sucker for k98's, but aren't we all... Stopped in at a local gun shop and spotted a R/C. Typical r/c, but untouched. Shop owner stated that he got from an estate. Specs are as follows: S/243 1936 Flat buttplate stock, but I think was laminate. I believe it was a oberndorf. Could not...

what is this number? under the weimar eagle?

this is stamped on the underside of the bolt handle, opposite the side where you normally see a s/n. noticed this on the bolt that came with the 39 bsw r/c i got a few weeks ago. in case you are curious, i used a regular digital camera and an a/o spencer microscope to get this picture.
